Torah tells us, “The Lion hath roared, who will not fear?” The Lion in our Yad looks fierce, not to hurt but to guard and protect. Our noble creature is inspired by the many depictions of lions protecting the Holy Ark. The lion’s stature also represents the courage and strength embodied in a righteous and dutiful individual.
